Account Setup
Get started with Nix It by connecting your Microsoft account.
Signing In
- Click Sign In or Open App from the home page
- You'll be redirected to Microsoft's sign-in page
- Enter your Microsoft account credentials (personal or work/school account)
- Review the permissions Nix It is requesting and click Accept
Permissions Requested
Nix It requests the following permissions to function:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Read and write mail | Access your emails, send on your behalf |
| Read and write calendars | View and create calendar events |
| Read your profile | Display your name and email address |
| Mailbox settings | Manage your email signatures |
| Maintain access | Keep you signed in between sessions |
These permissions allow Nix It to sync your email and calendar, and to perform actions like sending emails and creating events on your behalf.
First-Time Sync
When you first sign in, Nix It will:
- Sync your mailbox folders — Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Archive, and custom folders
- Sync recent emails — Your most recent emails will appear in the Intake
- Sync your calendar — Events from the past 60 days and next 365 days
The initial sync may take a few moments depending on the size of your mailbox. You'll see items appearing in your Intake as they sync.
During the initial calendar sync, events are not automatically added to your Intake to
avoid overwhelming you. After the initial sync completes, new events will follow your Calendar settings.

If you see a message that Nix It needs admin approval:
